The third annual Brooklyn Day Celebration was held in Williamsburg, McCarren Park this year. This celebration selects a different Brooklyn park for the Brooklyn Day festivities each year. McCarren Park was happily filled with children enjoying a day off from school by zumba-ing on the lawn and participating in a variety of fun. The event also had fitness activities and resources for seniors.
“Brooklyn Day has allowed generations of Brooklyn public school students to enjoy sports and other forms of outdoor recreation in our scenic spaces such as McCarren Park,” said Borough President Adams. “I thank all those who joined me there for a day of fun with friends and family to participate in activities that support physical, mental, and spiritual development. As a former high school football player, I know that the habits learned in sports and other organized athletic activities have the potential to become the foundation of physical fitness and personal fulfillment.”
