Brodsky: a daily countdown clock ticks down to the August 8th deadline; 40 neighbors plus Rep. Carolyn Maloney and Borough President Eric Adams pitched tents and camped out despite a downpour; and a Buyer Beware Rally was held the day before Mr. Brodsky’s deadline for his “highest bidder auction”.
The same day as the Buyer Beware Rally Brodsky was seen toasting his auction’s success and tweeting snark at park advocates. As of this printing he has yet to reveal the winning bidder of this auction.
At the rally Senator Dilan and Assemblymember Lentol stated that if the Mayor’s offer went unanswered they would encourage a move to Eminent Domain legislation.
Attorney Adam Perlmutter voiced some clarification on how the city came to their offer of $100M, and claimed based on real market figures, the property’s zoning, and other criteria that the parcel was valued at $46M–$114M.
