Winter’s tail end has brought its own excitement: the news broke that the old bridge would be imploded; a baby was delivered by highway patrolman Raphael Mohammed on March 5th; and the bridge’s original bronze name plaques were fully restored by Victoria Consulting & Development, Inc. and will be mounted on the new bridge.
What could this new news be? Possibly the release of the date the new Kosciuszko Bridge’s Queens-bound part will open, which is planned to happen at the end of April. This leg of the bridge will carry traffic in both directions until the Brooklyn-bound section is built. It can’t arrive too soon for those drivers suffering the present traffic jams.
