On October 20th Conselyea Street from Leonard to Lorimer was co-named Tillie Tarantino Way. Neighbors, friends, family, and Assembly Members Lentol and Davila, State Senator Dilan, and Council Members Levin and Reynoso gathered for the unveiling of this tribute for Tarantino, a native daughter, who did so much for the neighborhood she lived a lifetime in and especially her work for senior citizens.
“What a beautiful day to honor a beautiful person. Tillie always expected more from me, like she did of everyone, including herself. May Conselyea Street always be remembered for your decades of service and selflessness. I would like to thank her family, including Maria, her granddaughter for their tremendous advocacy in achieving this street co-naming, St. Nicks Alliance, CB1, and all who knew and loved Tillie. Welcome to Tillie Tarantino Way!” stated Council Member Antonio Reynoso.
