On October 26, afterschools across the country celebrated Lights On Afterschool. This nationwide event, started in 2000 and spotlights the role afterschool has in providing a safe learning space, and the service it provides to working families.
School Settlement Association (120 Jackson Street) parents and students celebrated Lights On Afterschool by filling out Light Bulbs with what they gain from afterschool. They also created lightbulbs from white balloons and listed all their personal plusses afterschool offers them.
School Settlement Association @ P.S.34 held an open house for Lights on After School. Parents/guardians were allowed to participate in activities with their children.
