At around 6 a.m. on the morning of March 13, leadership and ten participants of North Brooklyn YouthBuild’s construction or health care training boarded a bus in Williamsburg and headed up to the state capital to advocate for continued funding.
“In the well, our participants recited their [YouthBuild] pledge, and Youth Policy Council Vice President Brian Pabon spoke eloquently about his experience in our construction training as well as his recent successes: earning his High School Equivalency diploma and all offered construction certifications,” said Anisee Alves-Willis, program director of North Brooklyn YouthBuild at St. Nicks Alliance.
NYS Senator Julia Salazar and NYS Assembly Members Maritza Davila and Emily Gallagher pledged their continued support for St. Nicks Alliance and YouthBuild funding.
