The Woodhull Auxiliary at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull is committed to ensuring everyone’s visit to the hospital is a positive experience. They are dedicated to support and enhance patient care through funding that would not otherwise be available. The auxiliary has provided funds for the expansion of primary care services in ambulatory care, in addition to much of the new state-of-the-art technology in the eye clinic, emergency department, respiratory care, and cardiology.
This year’s honorees have exemplified the hospital’s mission and made a difference in the community. The honorees are: Dr. Jonna Mercado, Woodhull Hospital’s chief of the department of medicine; Dr. Wasif Ahmed, Woodhull Hospital’s chief of anesthesiology and pain management; the recently retired Dr. Angela Edwards, who served as Woodhull’s chief nursing officer; and Detective Chris Charles from NYPD 79th Precinct.
