The auxiliary has provided funds for the expansion of primary care services in ambulatory care, in addition to much of the new state-of-the-art technology in the eye clinic, emergency department, respiratory care, and cardiology.

This year’s honorees have exemplified the hospital’s mission and made a difference in the community. The honorees are: Dr. Jonna Mercado, Woodhull Hospital’s chief of the department of medicine; Dr. Wasif Ahmed, Woodhull Hospital’s chief of anesthesiology and pain management; the recently retired Dr. Angela Edwards, who served as Woodhull’s chief nursing officer; and Detective Chris Charles from NYPD 79th Precinct.
