Voice Your Thoughts on Truck Routes

I’ve encountered huge semi-trucks turning onto one-lane side streets and blocking traffic for probably a half hour. An estimate grounded in my walking ten minutes from this road block and notice the truck hadn’t moved much.
The NYC Department of Transportation is asking for the public’s opinion before they begin redesigning the truck route map. The comment period ends on June 30.
“We want to hear from you, help us identify how and where we can improve the movement of trucks on our city streets,” states the NYC DOT’s comment site.
Some of the topics to offer advice on and locations for are: confusing truck route signage (a unclear or inaccurate posted truck route signage), missing truck route signage (a lack of adequate signage to help guide trucks to and along designated truck routes), weight and height restrictions (overweight and/ or over-dimensional trucks are often observed), observed pedestrian/bicycle and truck conflict (observed locations where multiple incidents of either pedestrian or bicycle and truck conflicts have occurred), and speeding.
