On June 18, U.S. Representative Nydia Velázquez presented $1M in federal funding to St. Nicks Alliance Workforce Development Center to support their relocation to an upgraded facility.
“This center serves 1000s of New Yorkers annually, providing them with in-demand skills training & placement in living wage jobs. There is a great need right now for skilled workers, and there is a shortage. This is the way that we empower young people and give them a fighting chance,” said Velázquez.

At the beginning of 2025 St. Nicks Alliance’s Workforce Development Center (currently at 790 Broadway) will relocate to an upgraded facility at the Throop Corners (88 Throop Avenue). Currently under construction, Throop Corners is a 100% affordable housing development in The Broadway Triangle community.
The new workforce center will include 4 classrooms, 30+ work stations, four offices, two meeting rooms, a computer lab, and a conference room. It will significantly expand the training capacity over the next two years across St. Nicks Alliance’s offerings in adult education, skills training, job preparedness, internships, and direct job placement.
