Seniors and Children Meet the Lt. Governor

NYS Elected Officials visit 211 Ainslie Street

On August 15, seniors of Swinging Sixties Older Adult Center and children of Small World Early Childhood Center (Small World) were honored to be visited by NYS Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, NYS Senator Julia Salazar, and NYS Assembly Member Emily Gallagher.  In addition, NYS Senator Kristen Gonzalez and NYS Assembly Member Maritza Davila sent their representatives to attend.

“We want to make sure here in New York and every community across this state we build a culture of care, and culture of compassion, and a culture of thoughtfulness and this is what we see here in this community and this is what we will continue to invest in and lift up every single day,” said Delgado.

The elected officials present and represented have generously supported the capital project at 211 Ainslie that will that will provide a new roof, HVAC system, play area, and entrance. NYS Senator Julia Salazar contributed $1.3M, NYS Assembly Member Maritza Davila contributed $1.25M, Assembly Member Emily Gallagher contributed $1.1M, and NYC Council Member Jennifer Gutiérrez contributed $2.6M.

After Delgado spoke, the children of Small World filed in to perform, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from the Disney film Toy Story, which added sunshine to a lovely day.
