Bamonte’s is no stranger to “Best of” lists.  In 2014 they were named one of the 21 best Italian restaurants in America by ThrillList and have continued to be a featured recommendation in that publication.

In late August, Eater placed Bamonte’s on their best Italian Restaurants of NYC list. Eater states their selection process as, “Editors make a deep effort to look beyond the restaurants with large marketing budgets to uncover neighborhood favorites, underrated gems, street food destinations, and more.”

The editors cited Bamonte’s legendary history of opening in 1900 and that ownership has remained in the same family. Also their recommendations for must orders include: briny clams oreganata, spaghetti and meatballs, and the famous pork chops with pickled peppers. Don’t miss the cannoli, an off-menu dessert.
