This year marked a milestone for a local 5k run. St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy ran their annual family fun run fundraiser called Get to the ‘Point for the 30th time on October 20.

The Get to the ‘Point 5K starts on Driggs Avenue at Newell Street and travels to North 12 Street, moves west to Kent Street, then makes its way toward McGolrick Park to finish at Driggs Avenue at Humboldt Street. Photo credit: St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy

The event starts with the kid’s dashes (ages 2–12) at 10:30 and then at 1 p.m. the 5k main event starts, rain or shine. This 5k has had its share of rainy runs – but the sun came out to cheer the runners on this year. Timothe Lambert crossed the finish line first with a time of 16:52.28. Marie Barnett’s time of 20:05.33 placed her seventh overall and the first woman to finish.
