Haunts of Halloweens Past

For several years now Filmore Place, a small street between Driggs Avenue and Roebling Street that’s just north of North 1st on the Driggs side and south of Hope Street on the Roebling side, has displayed a graveyard of beloved Williamsburg and Greenpoint businesses that have closed.  It’s a melancholy reminder to longtime residents of retail and service joys of the past and an omen of what can be lost as more upscale development moves in. This year Crest Hardware and Mr. Pina are new additions to this graveyard.
