Swinging Sixties Older Adult Center celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day with spoken word from Deacon Dennis Mathis who spoke on King’ life and achievements and Dr. Lorenzo Pace who shared his “MLK The Man”. These were followed by a luncheon and a viewing of the movie Selma.

As for the younger generation, 280 students across seven St. Nicks Alliance elementary school sites participated in a MLK Jr. day of service organized by 42 AmeriCorps members. The students read a book about MLK Jr., and afterward they discussed changes they wanted to see in the world and identified people who inspire them.  An art activity followed.
