YouthBuild is a global organization that enables young people to “pursue their education, prepare for future careers, and grow into community leaders—building brighter futures for themselves, their neighborhoods, and our world.”

North Brooklyn YouthBuild at St. Nicks Alliance trains 18–24-year olds in construction or healthcare professions.

On March 24, a group from North Brooklyn YouthBuild, led by Sarah Lorya, St. Nicks Alliance director, workforce operations, traveled to Albany for advocacy day.  There they met with the offices of NYS Assembly Member Emily Gallagher and NYS Assembly Member Maritza Davila.

When meeting with Hanna Johnson, the policy director for Gallagher, the North Brooklyn YouthBuild representatives discussed with how this training is critically important and its positive effects.

They also met with Jonathan Harkavy, the legislative director for Davila.
