Participatory Budgeting Begins on March 31

Have you ever had these thoughts, “There should be more street trees on my block”, “My kid’s school needs more computers or a hydroponic lab”, “it’d be great to have a bus that’s a library with activities that inspires kids to fall in love with reading” or “a local food pantry needs new equipment to better serve those with household food insecurity.” All of these thoughts became a reality through the NYC Council’s annual Participatory Budgeting.

From March 29–April 6, a bunch of new thoughtful projects to improve our community will be on the Participatory Budgeting ballot for NYC Council District 34. Voting is open to those who live in District 34, ages 11 (at least 6th grade level) or over regardless of immigration status.
You may vote in person at several scheduled locations or vote online here: pbnyc.org/vote during the voting period (March 29–April 6)
For more information or to see the list of projects on the ballot visit NYC Council Member Jennifer Gutiérrez page: https://council.nyc.gov/jennifer-gutierrez/participatory-budgeting/
Maybe you had other thoughts about improvements in the community that the City should fund. Jot those down and then advocate for them during the next round of Participatory Budgeting.
