Cooper Park Community Realm Shines

The community came out for the first Cooper Park Community Realm public workshop on May 3.  The workshop’s intention was to have community come together and help to shape the future of Cooper Park and East Williamsburg. 

More than 75 neighbors participated along with NYS Senator Julia Salazar, NYS Assembly Member Emily Gallagher, and staff from the offices of: NYC Council Member Jennifer Gutiérrez, U.S. Representative Nydia Velásquez, Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, and Brooklyn Community Board 1 District Manager.

The workshop organized by St. Nicks Alliance, Friends of Cooper Park, and Cooper Park Houses Residents Council wanted input from the community as to what changes they wanted to see. In addition to offering ideas on beautifying public spaces, improving street safety, and more.
