Williamsburgh Library Seeks Friends

In May the word went out that Williamsburgh Library was forming a Friends group. They held an interest meeting on May 27.

The Brooklyn Public Library system sees Friends groups as integral. Friends of a branch support and advocate to ensure the branch has essential funds to purchase supplies and care spaces. Friends also host monthly meetings and events, including book and bake sales, author talks and readings, holiday events, etc.

The May interest meeting showed promise and monthly meetings for the Friends of Williamsburgh Library have followed.  The next one is on Tuesday, July 22 at 6 p.m. at the library’s auditorium (240 Division Avenue).  RSVP is optional but helpful. For any questions before the meeting, or if you are unable to attend, but would like more information, please email Friends@bklynlibrary.org

If you have ideas on how to make the branch a better place? Want to support the branch through advocacy and fundraising? Come and join the Friends of Williamsburgh Library and help plan and support their upcoming events! Bring your time, talent, and ideas, too. All are welcome to join!
