Debra Benders, president of Cooper Park Residents Council, holds a turkey about to be given away.

Each year, Cooper Park Houses Residents Council makes sure their residents are able to fill their Thanksgiving tables.  They gave out 218 turkeys, 10 chickens, 24 hams, and bags of groceries.  The following elected officials and community organizations supported this food drive: U.S. Representative Nydia Velázquez, NYS Assembly Member Maritza Davila, Southside United HDFC – Los Sures, North Brooklyn Angels, NYPD 94th Precinct, NYC Council Member Jennifer Gutiérrez, and St. Nicks Alliance.
