On December 8, Bushwick participated in one of its holiday traditions. The festivities began at 5 a.m. at Knickerbocker & Myrtle avenues where live music, treats, and hot chocolate fueled the holiday spirit before the group paraded together to Maria Hernandez Park for the tree lighting.

NYC Council Member Sandy Nurse speaks at the tree lighting in Maria Hernandez Park.

“Thank you to the families that came out for our Christmas parade and tree lightings at Knickerbocker Plaza and Maria Hernandez Park! It’s always a beautiful way to close out the year in Bushwick, special thank you to my friend and co-host Council Member Jennifer Gutiérrez, Assembly Member Maritza Davila, CB4, Tony’s Pizzeria, El Puente, Bomba Yo, and Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce,” said NYC Council Member Sandy Nurse.
