Bring your trees on January 10 and 11 to receive a bag of mulch

Did you know that 52,569 trees were recycled during last year’s Mulchfest? NYC Parks want you to help them top this number.
Mulchfest started on December 26, 2025 and runs through January 11, 2026. It helps give your dried up Christmas Tree a new life as mulch for parks and gardens around NYC. In our area you’d just drop off your tree to McCarren Park, Domino Park, McGolrick Park, or Maria Hernandez Park.
You will get an added bonus if you bring your tree to one of the above-named parks on Chipping Weekend (January 11 and January 12). NYC Parks calls it a tree-mento! They’ll chip your tree and give you your very own bag of mulch to use in your backyard or to make a winter bed for a street tree.
