Once upon a time, around December 18, a member of a film crew currently working on a documentary about older couples was riding her bike past Swinging Sixties Older Adult Center (211 Anslie Street). Fate must have been Shannon O’Donnell’s compass as this happened right after an interview had cancelled. A good production assistant is always open to opportunity, so she decided to stop in and check the center out for potential couples and a location.

The Hollywood angle is that this production is being led by actor/producer/recording artist Rita Wilson. Wilson has first-hand knowledge of marriage endurance. She and Tom Hanks married more than 36 years ago.
The director of the project is Steven Sebring, a photographer and director of several musician-focused documentaries such as Patti Smith: Dream of Life, which won a Sundance award for cinematography.

Three couples at Swinging Sixties agreed to participate and were interviewed by Wilson on the morning of December 19. The couples are: Antonia and Jorge Cedeno, Sheldon and Aida Kirstein, and Modesto and Fe Dia.
