Bushwick 1000 is one of the promises Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso (BBP) made during his 2025 State of Brooklyn. Recently launched, Bushwick 1000 is a multi-year initiative to secure employment for 1,000 unemployed young adults from Bushwick. The BBP has partnered with RiseBoro, Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow, and St. Nicks Alliance. These organizations will provide training, job search assistance, and support to participants.
“Bushwick 1000 is a multi-year effort with one clear goal: to secure employment for 1,000 unemployed young adults from Bushwick,” said Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. “The promise of New York City is the sweat New Yorkers are willing to put in for it, and I am so excited to partner with Riseboro, Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow, and St. Nicks Alliance to makes good on that promise for young people in Bushwick looking for work.”
An event that is a combination job fair and launch celebration will be on April 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Nicks Alliance Workforce Development Center (92 Throop Avenue).
“St. Nicks Alliance Workforce Development Center is excited to host the Bushwick 1000 Job Fair and kickoff event. We are committed to serving Bushwick residents in partnership with the borough president. As a lead partner organization of the Bushwick 1000 we’ll offer workplace success job readiness training, job club employment matching services, and training in one of our fourteen industry trainings across the building trades, healthcare, tech and financial services. All St. Nicks Alliance participants will receive transformational coaching, plus internship and job placement services.
