About
The North Brooklyn News | GREENLINE was started by St. Nicks Alliance in August of 1975 as a newsletter to share community news, events, and info. In August of 1977, the newsletter began its transformation to a free monthly community newspaper and was distributed widely throughout North Brooklyn. In the October 1977 issue of GREENLINE, its mission statement appeared.
“We feel it is essential that this neighborhood have a newspaper that can communicate information and ideas in a forum of objectivity and fair play. We take advertisements in GREENLINE to solely cover its costs, with each issue breaking just about even. Our paper has thus far proven highly successful having been received by the community with much praise and support.”
GREENLINE, like all newspapers, has faced challenges. Nearly 50 years later we are still here maintaining our aim to support our community. We are thankful our community supports us.
