When Kings Pharmacy on Bedford Avenue in the middle of North 3rd and 4th Streets closed its doors last summer, the reason why was covered in shadows and fog. Before its closing, employees could be heard saying that the landlord was pushing them out to get a much higher rent for the space, but this reasonable hearsay was heavily clouded in rumor. That was until the NY Post broke a story in the second week of December that Apple had chosen this spot for its first Brooklyn location. As usual this made the most sense as it no doubt will make the most cents for all concerned. This Apple Store is planned to open in 2015, which will make quite a race as to which icon of thoughtful consumerism will open its doors first on the block: Apple or Whole Foods.
