For the past twenty-eight years North Brooklynites have had a special way to celebrate the Epiphany or Three Kings Day or El Día De Los Tres Reyes. El Puente, a community 3 Kings Show 03rights institution in Williamsburg, has produced a show to celebrate this special holiday and preserve a Latino tradition. This year’s centerpiece, El Granito: The Seed of Hope was an original musical that was conceived, written, produced, and performed by students and teaching artists in El Puente’s in-school/after-school arts & cultural programs. An original musical play created in this way has become a trademark of this yearly show. The set designs, costumes, and live music featured the work of several CADRE (Community Artists’ Development & Resource Exchange) artists.
