Southside United HDFC – Los Sures® celebrated its annual fundraising reception at the Brooklyn Winery on April 16th. In addition to celebrating another year of service, Los Sures takes the opportunity to honor individuals who have championed affordable housing and fought against displacement. Those spotlighted this year were: Jeanine Ramirez (of NY1), Rockabill Advisors, Doug Moritz (of Williamsburg Fair Housing Committee), and Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams.
More than 50 companies and individuals contributed to the fundraiser with Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburg taking the lead as a Legacy Sponsor.
Ramon Peguero, Executive Director of Southside United HDFC – Los Sures® extended his gratitude, “We thank our sponsors, supporters, and friends for believing in our mission and our capacity to protect local residents from displacement through affordable housing development, social services, and community organizing.”
Over 200 individuals attended the event in support of the organization, including Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Public Advocate Letitia James, Comptroller Scott Stringer, State Representative Maritza Davila, and Council Member Antonio Reynoso and several other community leaders.
