Art Spins Again One Final Time: Last Dance at the Old Gem Space.

Last Dance 02
The Gem’s last dance as a pop-up art space mixed music and live art for a fun fundraising event for Arts@Renaissance

Arts@Renaissance hosted their final show for the year, Last Dance at the old Gem Space on June 12th and 13th at the closed close-out store that has served as a pop-up art gallery since the end of February.  Last Dance invited all NYC artists to exhibit their work, some of which would be sold to benefit A@R.  The opening night of the weekend art showing showcased performances by area DJs and live art performers. The show was curated by Alejandro Aguilar who also curates the art on display at LP’n Harmony.

This weekend art rave was a fitting last hurrah for the space at 695 Grand Street in Brooklyn that will soon be torn down and turned into affordable housing.  As for Arts@Renaissance plans are underway via help from capital funds secured by Councilman Antonio Reynoso  for a new and permanent Arts@Renaissance  Center at 601 Metropolitan Avenue to open spring 2016!
