2015 The 3rd Annual North Brooklyn Touch A Truck

A Bright Spot on a Rainy Day!

The 3rd Annual North Brooklyn Touch A Truck parked itself on Roebling between North 10th and 11th streets, October 3, 2015. In addition to allowing kids get behind the wheel of big professional vehicles, there were cupcakes, face painting, and other fun activities – and all to support children’s literacy!

There is no stopping a child’s fascination for big trucks, and there was no stopping The 3rd Annual North Brooklyn Touch A Truck from parking NYPD and construction vehicles plus fire, tow, utility trucks,  and oh a hearse, on Roebling between North 10th and North 11th streets.  There also will be no stopping the BK Story Voyager (powered by NABE 3.0) from being a full-throttle literacy inspiration for North Brooklyn children when it hits the streets this November.

This Touch A Truck event was once again organized by St. Nicks Alliance. Although proceeds from the former ones also went toward youth services, 2015’s Touch A Truck is more specifically geared to support the BK Story Voyager, and the proceeds collected will go to help pay the BK Story Voyager’s operating costs. Even though the damp-windy- chilly weather would make a less tenacious group reschedule their event, St. Nicks Alliance stood their ground and were rewarded and warmed by the community that came out to this 3rd annual Touch A Truck.  Now many more know the BK Story Voyager is coming, and they can’t wait!
