Shelly Paus, the BK Story Voyager Librarian, has loved books and reading since she can remember. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in English and received a Master of Library Science (MLS) from the University of Texas at Austin, with a focus on public library services. Her previous experience as a librarian includes reference work at Pratt Institute’s Brooklyn Campus Library and children’s programming and collection development at Brooklyn Public Library. Currently, she is a graduate student in the Childhood Special Education: Learning Disabilities program at Hunter College.
Shelly enjoys being a librarian because she loves working with books and kids as well as doing something different every day. She hopes to build and expand the literacy skills of young people in North Brooklyn by offering fun and creative programs on the BK Story Voyager.
