sNOw RULES!

Snow bonus by Jonas: Pedestrians walk in Bedford Ave. 4 pm, January 23rd

Winter Storm Jonas slinked in like a white lion. Although early reports were cautious, the blizzard of 2016 broke a record for snowfall in one day, and its total snowfall measurement of 26.8 inches came within 1/10th inch of the “storm total” record. The days post-Jonas were filled with clean-up and altered rules of the road. Mayor de Blasio urged those digging themselves out to not dump the snow into the street. The shovelers I spotted did not comply with this request and inquired, “Where else is it supposed to go?” Rules as to right-of-way tend to slip as the slippery stuff melts and refreezes, and many eschew curbing dog etiquette leaving poop piles atop snow banks (as if it will magically melt away with the snow). It is a time for extra patience and vigilance no matter how you choose to travel. Be kind and careful out there!
