PS 250 rolled out a barrel of Year of the Monkey fun on February 4th and 11th. The first date brought a beautiful exhibition of the students’ talents in ribbon dance, singing,
dancing, and martial arts. The event was emceed by students dressed as monkeys. The tail end of the show brought a student powered Chinese dragon that travelled the circumference of the room, sometimes where the tail literally had to catch up to its head. The following week brought a Dragon Dance performed by The Asian United and Cultural Exchange Council in addition to special performances by the PS 250 Ribbon Dance Ensemble and Chorus. In addition to wishing everyone a hounian jixiang, PS 250 is celebrating the up and coming opening of their Chinese/English dual language program starting for kindergarteners in Sept. 2016.
