PS 250 Rings in the Year of the Monkey

Youth Year of the Monkey 022 WEBPS 250 rolled out a barrel of Year of the Monkey fun on February 4th and 11th. The first date brought a beautiful exhibition of the students’ talents in ribbon dance, singing, Youth Year of the Monkey 013 WEBdancing, and martial arts. The event was emceed by students dressed as monkeys. The tail end of the show brought a student powered Chinese dragon that travelled the circumference of the room, sometimes where the tail literally had to catch up to its head. The following week brought a Dragon Dance performed by The Asian United and Cultural Exchange Council in addition to special performances by the PS 250 Ribbon Dance Ensemble and Chorus. In addition to wishing everyone a hounian jixiang, PS 250 is celebrating the up and coming opening of their Chinese/English dual language program starting for kindergarteners in Sept. 2016.
