Senator Daniel Squadron gathered hundreds of residents from across his district, which covers neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Manhattan, to discuss issues of importance ranging from streets and transportation, to affordability and Albany ethics reform at his 8th Annual Community Convention. City Transportation Commissioner Polly Trottenberg gave the key note speech.
“Whether it’s a pothole, a school’s need for a crossing guard, a vision for storm resiliency, or identifying a need to change state law, the Convention is an opportunity to begin engagement and change,” said Squadron.
Participants shared ideas throughout 13 different moderated break-out groups, including a Chinese-language group. Squadron will use feedback from the Convention to help shape and inform local and legislative priorities throughout the year.
