During Holy Week, blessings surround our community. Good Friday brings the faithful out as three parishes fill our streets with penitent pedestrians as they walk the Way of the Cross, each church walking this walk in their own distinct way.
After the Good Friday’s somberness passes, it’s soon Easter Sunday. Flowers are blooming

on dresses, on headbands, and on hats. Baskets are filled with sweet treats, toys, and found dyed hardboiled eggs. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel’s midday Easter mass was a family mass that featured a procession of children. Rev. Msgr. Jamie Gigantiello welcomed all, especially the visitors. He countervailed the recent MOAB bombing with a hopeful message to promote good deeds,
“We’ll never achieve peace by dropping the Mother of All Bombs. It takes each one of us to do good to one another, and we will make the world better,” said Rev. Msgr. Jamie Gigantiello
The mass ended with the blessing of Easter baskets, and the Easter Bunny made a surprise appearance.
