St. John the Evangelist’s 40th Men’s Day

40 Mens Day 001
Guest speaker, Juan Ramos (front row 2nd from right) is surrounded by the men of St. John the Evangelist Lutheran Church, which include Deacon David Dobosz (far left) and Pastor Jason Taber (behind Juan’s left shoulder) at their annual Men’s day celebration.

For the past four decades, St. John the Evangelist Lutheran Church (195 Maujer St.) has honored, as Pastor Jason Taber says, “The men that have passed on, the men that are still here, and come out with a renewed sense of focus.”

This year’s event invited Juan Ramos, chairperson of the Broadway Triangle Community Coalition, to be guest speaker for the second year in a row. “Because we loved his last presentation so-oh much!” said Deneise Jennings-Houston

Ramos’ talk focused on steering young men away from choosing violence.
