On your mark, start your appetite, and you’ll be ready when the 8th annual Taste Williamsburg/Greenpoint inhabits East River Park on September 17th (from 1 p.m. –5 p.m.) Dozens of North Brooklyn’s best eating and drinking establishments will represent at this “Food Fest of North Brooklyn’s Best”. There will also be a variety of soft and hard beverages.
TASTE is more than a quality eating extravaganza. It’s an introduction to the community’s dining establishments and a community culinary benefit where its proceeds will go to build a community and cultural center from the shuttered Engine Co. 212 firehouse on Wythe Ave between N8th and N9th Street. The Firehouse North Brooklyn Community Center will provide a permanent home to neighborhood social justice organizations for continued advocacy and direct services to Williamsburg and Greenpoint, in addition to fostering civic and cultural engagement with original arts programming and community gatherings.
Beyond the eating and drinking TASTE 2017 will offer: live music, a tattoo artist doing Brooklyn themed tattoos, a community advocates tent where local nonprofits will be available to share their info, the BK Story Voyager, and much more. Also know this is good clean fun as TASTE works with Common Ground Compost to make sure they are a zero waste event!
