Crest Hardware and Cross County Savings Bank cosponsor ballroom fundraiser

Hot salsa on a cold winter’s night warmed those who came out to Giando on the Water to watch the 2nd Ready Sett Dance. A Broadway theme set the tempo for four couples of local community heroes to go toe to toe, hip sway to hip sway, and dip to dip — all in pursuit of victory on the dance floor.
Ready Sett Dance’s previous champion Lucky Lee (owner of Lucky’s Real Tomatoes) found a new partner in artist/dancer Carlos Mateu to defend her title against the husband and wife pairs: Iliana and Councilman Antonio Reynoso; Maria Benedetto (Queen of the Rosary Catholic Academy) and Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj; and Fran and Tony Grasso. The competition was tough and tight, and therefore resulted in a tie! The wining couples were the Reynosos and Benedetto/Maharaj.
However the real winner is the community! Ready Sett Dance is also a St. Nicks Alliance fandango of fundraiser that brought a new community center $52,000 closer to construction at the School Settlement Association (120 Jackson Street). Direct contributions like this will play a crucial role in leveraging public contributions from New York State, New York City, and foundations. St. Nicks Alliance is very grateful to the sponsors of this event especially Cross County Savings Bank and Crest Hardware.
