Domino Park Opening Day June 10th

DP map 001

Kick off your summer on Sunday, June 10 and join the best of Brooklyn in celebrating the grand opening of Domino Park, the five-acre waterfront public park just north of the Williamsburg Bridge. With the redevelopment of the Domino Sugar Factory, Two Trees Management has created a spectacular, 11-acre, mixed-use community just north of the Williamsburg Bridge and the park is sure to become a daily refuge for the local community.

The fun-filled, programmed day will bring together Brooklyn’s top food, music, and cultural institutions for a neighborhood event like no other, introducing New York’s most exciting public space to the neighborhood, friends and family.  From 12pm – 4pm, park visitors can participate in a waterfront yoga class, try Danny Meyer’s newest creation Tacocina (a permanent addition to the park) and enjoy bites from Fornino, Mekelburg’s, Yankee Doodle, and Ice Cream from Van Leeuwen.

Other activities and entertainment will run the full gamut, including National Sawdust live music performances, salsa dancing, park tours from Untapped Cities, performance art from STREB and more. Try your hand at a game of dominos with El Puente, get up close and personal with North Brooklyn Farms or meet the many makers of the park including Lisa Switkin from James Corner Field Operations.

Domino Park provides space for New Yorkers of all ages to enjoy. The park will feature a volleyball court, bocce ball courts, a dog-run, areas to lay on the grass, a Mark Reigelman-designed playground, an elevated walkway to take in the Manhattan skyline views, and much, much more!
