Nuestros Niños Chilhood Development Center opened their doors in January 1974 and began their service to the community’s families and children. For forty-four years and forward they provide their students with cultural and educational experiences via a holistic approach that optimizes childhood development in social, academic, emotional, physical, and creative areas. This was the mission of John Mulhern who founded the center after noticing the predominant need low-income young women and families had in finding childcare while they worked. In late August they celebrated 44 years with their first Annual Gala. The honorees were John Mulhern (Nuestros Niños’s first executive director) and Marilyn Pabon (a former long-serving staff member), Mercedes Villegas (former staff/ parent)
