If you’ve ever thought, “so many restaurants in our community, so little time to try them all”, TASTE WG is the place for you. The WG stands for Williamsburg Greenpoint , and over forty area restaurants and bars will participate. This 4-hour food fest raises funds for the The Firehouse North Brooklyn Community Center (Formally known as Northside Town Hall Community and Cultural Center) in the former Engine 212 Firehouse at 134 Wythe Ave.
To whet your appetite, here are some of this year’s lineup: Amami Sushi, Barano, BK Pizza Crew, Brooklyn Bowl, Brooklyn Label, Cafe Colette, Calexico, Cheeseboat, Clinton Hall, Coolhaus, Du’s Donuts, Freehold, Harvey, Le Gamin, Lighthouse, Leuca at The William Vale, Midnights, Maison Premiere, Pies ‘N’ Thighs, Scoops in Cahoots, Pine Box Rock Shop, The Meatball Shop, The Saint Austere, Zona Rosa Brooklyn. Newcomers to this year’s Taste are The Springs, Clinton Hall, and BK Label, and a special VIP area featuring Tacocina. Wise foodies will arrive early as food is first come first serve, while supplies last.

Another new twist is an all-you-can-eat ticket format! This is done in mind to help eliminate as much waste as possible and to aspire to be a zero waste event. No more “taste” tickets that attendees would exchange with vendors for a taste.
Just for the fun of it or to work off some calories to make room for more the YMCA will orchestrate all kinds of family friendly activities at the event like basketball, family zumba, and yoga!
TASTE will also have a transportation forum with its own dedicated tent area to address the concerns about the L shutting down this coming April. Several local ride sharing companies and transportation advocates will be on hand to discuss alternative transportation during the shutdown.
Last but not least, and also new, TASTE teams up with Greenpointers Indie Maker Market and in the adjacent indoor event space at BIBA of Williamsburg the work of 20-25 talented makers, artists, and crafters will be featured. Guests may enter free of charge.
“As we enter our 9th year, we are more excited than ever to share this amazing community festival once again September. We are excited about all the updates, additions, and partners this year, including the YMCA, Transportation Forum, and Greenpointers Indie Makers Market,” said Dana Krieger, organizer of TASTE WG.
TASTE WG will go on rain or shine on September 16, 1–5 p.m. at East River Park. This event is 21+. You will need a valid photo ID. To purchase tickets: https://www.event-brite.com/e/taste-williamsburg-greenpoint-tickets-48040945762
