Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez worked as a server for an hour at Marlow and Sons along with NY State electeds State Senator Julia Salazar, Assemblywomen Jo Anne Simon and Tremaine Wright, and Assistant Speaker of the Assembly Felix Ortiz. This was an exercise of support for the One Fair Wage campaign that is looking to raise the lower minimum wage for those who work for tips in the restaurant industry to match the regular minimum wage, allowing those who work in the industry to receive a fair base wage and collect tips.
