Hopefully you got out and about the two weeks in August that the Grand St. BID held their Summer Restaurant week. The deals were great and the food was delicious.

It’s also a great excuse to try a new place. This reporter tried Ryujin (513 Grand Street). Their restaurant week deal was a $25 prix fixe menu that gave you a choice of appetizer, entrée, and either dessert or beer or sake. My selection for the appetizer was the Vegan Agedashi Tofu, which though fried was light and delightful. I picked the Vegetable Spicy Miso Ramen for my entrée and I’m sure I broke some ramen eating protocol to get at all that was in my bowl. Ryujin opened in February 2016, but seems like a veteran. This establishment also embraces local artists, whose art is displayed on its walls.
If you missed Summer Restaurant Week, well you’ll only have to wait two seasons when Winter Restaurant Week will start its run. However there is no time like the present to stroll along Grand Street and begin some eatery enchantment.
Great post 🙂
