The first Tuesday in August has become a traditional celebration of community building between neighbors and law enforcement. Grills cooked up hamburgers and hotdogs at three spots in the community: Bushwick Houses, Brooklyn Arbor’s playground, and on Lorimer Street and Meserole Avenue hosted respectively by NYPD Housing PSA 3 and NYPD Precincts 90 and 94. The local community enjoyed great food and fun. The 90th Precinct brought out a super hero bouncy house and Captain America engaged the younger kids with some games. Elected officials made appearances at one or several National Night Outs, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams was at both the 90th and 94th’s, the latter was one of the precincts he worked in when he was on the NYPD. Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development, Vicki Been, Assemblywoman Davila, and Council Member Antonio Reynoso’s chief of staff visited the festivities at Bushwick Houses. Broadway Stages helped supply the food at the 94th Precinct.
