Take the 2020 Census (www.my2020census.gov) now until 8:59 a.m. on August 4, 2020 and you’ll be eligible to win a $1000 gift card from Seamless. The 2020 Census only takes about five minutes to fill out, so that would mean the lucky ten winners would be at a $20K per hour pay rate just by doing a simple but hugely impactful civic duty that only has to be done once every decade.
The Census numbers are used to help determine the distribution of hundreds of billions of dollars in federal and state funds. Funding for Hospitals, school lunch programs, highways are just three of many things that are affected by census numbers. In partnership with NYC Census 2020, Seamless is giving away ten $1,000 gift cards to New Yorkers who complete the 2020 Census. These gift cards can be used on Seamless to order meals for pickup or delivery from local restaurants in New York City.
In order to qualify, an individual must first complete the census for their household, then register for the contest by offering proof to NYC Census 2020 of having done so and providing up to 250 characters about what winning would mean to them. Winners will be selected based on the quality of their answers to that last question. The Competition is open only to residents of New York City, who are at least eighteen years of age as of May 26, 2020. Starting on Friday June 5, 2020, a winner will be selected each week for the 10 weeks of the Competition Period. To be eligible for a given week’s prize, see the time table below for the entry periods. If an entry is not selected as a Winner for the week it is submitted, that entry will remain eligible to win in every subsequent week over the remainder of the Competition Period. Only 1 entry per person, but there can be more than 1 entry per household.
What if you want to enter the contest but you have filled the Census out prior to this? You can return to the online questionnaire and resubmit your information. The Census Bureau has procedures in place to resolve duplicate submissions.
The Competition is sponsored by the New York City Mayor’s Office of the Census 2020 a division of the City of New York’s Mayor’s Office (“Sponsor”).
