The 10th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep

Bushwick Inlet Park (86 Kent Ave.), May 1st 10:00 a.m.– 1:00 p.m.
A day of service for the Hudson River and its tributaries (and New York Harbor). Registration is required to maintain safety protocols Register at: www.eventbrite.com/e/brooklyn-bushwick-inlet-park-cleanup-and-planting-registration-142013507223 Volunteers will meet at Bushwick Inlet Park down by the water. Wear sturdy shoes or boots, clothing that they can get dirty, and to bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, and a face mask, work gloves, and hand sanitizer. This site is suitable for elementary-aged children with proper adult supervision.
Transmitter Park (1 Greenpoint Ave.), May 1st 10:00 a.m.– 1:00 p.m.
Registration required to maintain safety protocols. This site is suitable for elementary-aged children with proper adult supervision.


Public Garden/Park Tending

Leonard Library (81 Devoe St.), May 1st 11:00 a.m.– 3:00 p.m.
Join in a help the Leonard Library create a beautiful outdoor reading room! They need volunteers to help with evening out the ground and digging flower beds, planting, and making and hanging birdfeeders. This event will be held exclusively outdoors.  Please wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines. They will have some garden tools, but bring your own if you have them.

Bushwick Inlet Park (86 Kent Ave.), Weeding Wednesdays May 12th, 19th, etc. 6:00 p.m.– 7:30 p.m.
Weeding, mulching, and watering (if necessary) the Bushwick Inlet Park planted areas. Registration required to maintain safety protocols. Register here: https://signup.com/go/WKTMbhR . They have tools and gloves (but bring yours if you have them). Bring water and be sure to wear your mask.
