The North Brooklyn Angels continuously live up to their name. On September 4, they distributed essential products not covered by emergency government financial assistance to 350 neighborhood families in collaboration with community grass roots partners and elected officials. The sidewalk outside Williamsburg’s WIC Office (125 Graham Avenue) was the location of this giveaway.
“We laid out our miles of diapers, the fresh produce which [Southside United HDFC –] Los Sures’ social services shared with us. Then we set up a couple of tables loaded with stuffed backpacks, new children’s books, toys, and gently used baby gear all donated or collected by Tony Kim’s Team at Eleven33 Manhattan Avenue,” said North Brooklyn Angels executive director, Felice Kirby.
Community-minded management company of Eleven33, the Domain Properties, engaged tenants to make donations of the items listed.
It is estimated the following was given away: 30,000 diapers, 150 stuffed backpacks, 100 children’s books, 100 early childhood toys, 500 pounds of fresh produce, and several pieces of gently used baby chairs, strollers, etc.
