Honoring Armistice Day

Memorial Gore sits along several cross streets: Metropolitan Avenue and Maspeth Avenue between Humbolt Street and Bushwick Avenue.  It recognizes those local residents who gave their lives when America joined the fight in World War I.  Since 2017 community groups and local leaders have gathered on Veterans Day (first known as Armistice Day for WWI) to honor our veterans past and present.  This year Assembly Member Emily Gallagher, local boy scouts and girl scouts (many of Divine Mercy Parish), and neighbors, joined St. Nicks Alliance (the organizer of the event).
