Lindsay Park Co-op Opens Senior Services

St. Nicks Alliance in partnership with Lindsay Park Cooperative received wonderful news from NYC Department of the Aging (DFTA) in response to proposals submitted in May 2021 for a Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC). A NORC is a housing development or neighborhood that wasn’t originally built for older adults, but is now home to a significant number of older adults. St. Nicks Alliance and Lindsay Park Cooperative were awarded a NORC grant to provide services to the 600+ seniors residing at Williamsburg’s Lindsay Cooperative, a moderate income complex. Proposed services include health and wellness activities, transportation and escort to medical appointments, case-management assistance, help with benefits and entitlements, and educational activities. Prior to the DFTA award, limited NORC services were provided by discretionary start up funding provided by Councilman Antonio Reynoso now Brooklyn Borough President. The Lindsay Park NORC Office is located at 31 Leonard Street.
