Once again Graham Avenue will be filled with family-friendly fun featuring children’s rides and fabulous food. In addition, this year there will be a dance challenge and a retail treasure hunt with participating merchants providing valuable deals to shoppers for the day.
As for entertainment, musical performances will take to the stage. Acts will include dance and a piano recital by the students of PS 257, jazz tunes by the Grand Street Campus High School jazz band, and a mariachi performance by the Academia de Mariachi Nuevo Amanecer. Additional performances by a number of other local groups are also featured for the day, including dancers and a veteran salsa band, Conjunto Imagenalso.
The Graham Avenue BID will also launch its “Get It @ Graham” local shopping campaign. This promotion features a unique eGift card program that allows individuals and companies to send individuals gift cards, which can only be redeemed at local merchant locations and encourages local, in-person shopping. The cards cannot be used for online shopping or at shops outside of the Graham Avenue commercial district. This assures that the money spent stays local.
