“It may be hot, but we’re out here for District 34’s Southside Summer Fiesta with our friends,” stated a post on NYC Council Member Jennifer Gutierrez’s Instagram.  On the penultimate Saturday of July, Roebling from South 2nd to South 1st Streets was fiesta central for five hours.  The heatwave conditions didn’t stop people from dancing in the street to the music of Danny El Doctor De La Bachata and DJ El Chino de Oro.  Community organizations had shaded tables with information on what they offered.  The festivities were hosted by the council member with support from Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso.
